12. "The Creator of Life"
I think it's ironic that the fundies always invoke their pro-life religious views when discussing abortion, especially when you consider that there are over one million natural, spontaneous abortions and miscarriages each year. It would seem that if there really is a God, he/she/it is not only pro-choice, but rabidly pro-choice.

8. I think he must have been referring to that near beer he likes to drink
O'Douls or some such bilge water. I can just hear the ads now. George Bush after a tough day clearing brush at his "ranch" (read pig farm) likes to kick back and enjoy an O'Douls. O'Douls: the Unaleable.

17. i must have misspelled it
Un - Not

ali - wing
alae - any winglike projection or structure; lateral petal of papilionaceous flowers; membranous expansion on some seeds; basal lobe of moss leaves

ible - expressing ability, capacity, fitness; capable of, fit for
able - to be done, can be done, inclined to, tending to, given to

"Unalaeible right of life" - Not capable of having wings...
or perhaps "Unaleable right to life" - not given to having wings...

ahhh... i get it
we're human, and as humans we are born without the wings of angels - and once you are born you are 'in sin' so if you are not given the opportunity to be born, you cannot lose your wings and thus have the opportunity to be baptised and regain the right. He's reaffirming our right to be born into sin...

Watching Bush, DeLay, Santorum, Hyde and the other fundy fuckheads smirk as they chipped away at a woman's right to control her body was almost too much to bear.

11. Well, I for one am THRILLED
"For years, a terrible form of violence has been directed against children who are inches from birth while the law looked the other way," Bush said as he signed the ban on a procedure called partial-birth abortion by its critics.

YAY!! No more 8 3/4 month healthy fetuses ripped from their mothers' wombs!! It's about time this all too common atrocity was stopped!! Why, I don't know how many friends of mine have been pregnant and at the last minute decided "Meh, I don't think I wanna have this brat after all." Tsk tsk...But finally our RIGHTEOUS, GOD FEARING, LIFE AFFIRMING pResident has had the the COURAGE to defend those only "INCHES FROM LIFE"!!! It's a beautiful day!!

</extreme sarcasm off>

21. He is full of it--as usual he does not know what he is talking about
Edited on Wed Nov-05-03 04:19 PM by Marianne
More than forty states have restrictions on third trimester abortions and have had them for a while. This is not an elective procedure, and further women do NOT gleefully wait until the third trimester to have an elective abortion. Maybe there are even more state laws by now--no doctors are performing the procedure known as D&X (dilation and extraction) unless there is a horribly deformed fetus that will not survive after birth more than a few hours or days, or the mother's life and health are in grave danger.

22. WTF is this about a "Culture of Life"?
Aware of its backing among the religious conservatives that make up a key portion of his base of political support, the president declared himself pleased to sign legislation he said would help him and others "build a culture of life" in America. To that end, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president supports additional legislative moves — which he did not specify — to further restrict abortion.
