Prosecutors decry DeLay's court procedures

By APRIL CASTRO
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

AUSTIN, Texas -- Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is trying to bully his way through the court system to further his own political ambitions, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle said in court documents that the Republican is "attempting to leapfrog" over the usual court procedures by asking the state's highest criminal court to dismiss all charges against him or to order a trial right away.
(snip)

He has been pressing the state's highest criminal court to address the charges quickly because he wants to regain his post before his colleagues call for new leadership elections later this month.
(snip)

"A county prosecutor has thrown a monkey wrench into the functioning of the United States Congress, and that's something that needs to be resolved," DeGuerin said.
(snip/...)

1. I think you got the quote wrong ...
Shouldn't that read:

"A monkey has thrown a county prosecutor wrench into the functioning of the United States Congress, and that's something that needs to be resolved ..."

Ah, the DeLay Delay - he wastes his time judge-shopping, and then complains that the 'system' is too slow ...

Don't worry, Bug-Boy - the striped pyjamas will be waiting for you, whether you put them on now, or later ...

4. I'm sure his exterminator skills will come in handy...
in his cockroach-infested cell.

Hell, any cell that HE'D BE IN would be cockroach-infested.

5. Slip slidin' away, slip slidin' awa-yay-a-yay
You the nearer your destination, the more you're slip-slidin' away-yay.

Now that Abramoff has pled, it will be very interesting to see what Tommy's next maneuver to escape justice will be.

Ronnie Earle is the DA down in Texas
You know he knows just what the facts is
He ain't gonna let Tom escape justice
He makes his living off of the people's taxes

It's just a musical morning today, I guess.
