Key Rwandan genocide trial begins

Four former Rwandan ministers have gone on trial, charged with masterminding the killing of some 800,000 people in the 1994 genocide.
Prosecutor Paul Ng'Arua told the court the ministers blazed a "path to hell" for the minority Tutsi population.
The four men are accused of being in charge of militia that systematically slaughtered ethnic Tutsis.
The United Nations tribunal, in the Tanzanian city of Arusha, is keen to respond to charges of inefficiency.

1. Just wanted to say that...
...General Clark lobbied the Pentagon and the White House for intervention in Rwanda. No one thought we had a dog in this fight and he was ignored. I'm sure you must have read Samantha Power's "Genocide: A Problem from Hell"

Just an FYI. Hopefully, the UN tribunal will be successful in its prosecution.

2. The U.N. is worthless
After spending over half a billion dollars and with more than 800 staff, the tribunal has achieved only 12 convictions in eight years.

They wouldn't do anything them, haven't done anything since and aren't likely to do anything soon. How in the world could Iraq be handed over to them, ala Kucinich, when they can't even secure a building in Baghdad? They are an incompetant club of feelgood check cashers.
