All UN staff out of Baghdad
http://www.thecouriermail.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,7794847%255E1702,00.html

ALL international UN staff have left Baghdad following a pullout ordered last month by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, a UN spokesman said overnight.

The staff have been sent to Cyprus while the world body reviews security after a scathing independent report found a litany of failures in United Nations safety procedures in Iraq.

The UN's acting head of mission in Iraq, Ramiro Lopes da Silva, and UN security coordinator Tun Myat have been placed on administrative leave pending a review of security lapses before the August 19 bombing of UN headquarters.

Very short piece.

4. and of course, the Iraqi people are "better off"
now that all int'l orgs are leaving, and they are now the "central front" in the terror war, and the same evil police forces are back doing their old jobs...

I bet those I-racki folks are about as thankful as one can be!
