 Borrowing from an idea that allows pet owners to track their dogs and cats, a U.S. company launched Thursday in Mexico the sale of microchips that can be implanted under a person's skin and used to confirm everything from health history to identity.

The microchips, which went on sale last year in the United States, could tap into a growing industry surrounding Mexico's crime concerns. Kidnappings, robberies and fraud are common here, and Mexicans are constantly looking for ways to stay ahead of criminals.

The microchip, the size of a grain of rice, is implanted in the arm or hip and can contain information on everything from a person's blood type to their name. Hospital officials and security guards can use a scanning device to read the chip's information.

1. My dog had a microchip implanted in 1998.
2. I read on MSNBC, but the story has disappeared, about the PLS (Presidential Location System) and how it tracked Nixon (way back then) and tripped-on the Watergate taping recorders through-out the White House.’ So Mr. Conspiracy Dope started thinking about the technology million times advancement and concluded that the pResident has got to have a bio-monitor implant which trips if his vitals jump and doctors come running. A choking to pass-out from is the same as dying to the victim. (A little detail left out by the joking media whores and ‘experts’ to create a diversion.) I am sure there is a monitor in the President. The story they say didn’t happen as reported. FACT IN LIFE. I thought reporters were to seek the truth?

2. Watch for kidnappers to start cutting off the arms of captives

At least that's the best I can figure. I suppose maybe kidnap victims could be treated to some street surgery by a captor with a knife but I'm not sure they'd spend the time on that. Either way I can't see why kidnappings would slow.
