BAGHDAD (AFP) - Two US soldiers were killed and one wounded when a military vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in the hotspot Iraqi town of Fallujah.

"Two were killed in action and one wounded when a military vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) at 8:30 am (0530 GMT)," a military spokeswoman said Saturday.

A US army captain in Fallujah earlier told AFP the vehicle was a Bradley.

13. they keep refering to these IEDs
"improvised explosive device" makes it sound like a cheap little cocktail, but they are taking out heavy equipment.
snip>
"Bradley would mark the second time since US troops invaded Iraq that insurgents have ripped apart US armor with their explosives. The first time was on October 29 when an M1 Abrams tank was hit by a bomb"

What the heck is it? What are they using? Why mix the terminology, IED, explosives, bomb?

In the end, I guess it doesn't really matter---they are killing/maiming our sons and daughters and it seems there is nothing being done by this misadmin to prevent that. Instead Georgie has moved on to making speeches and moves to tick off the "insurgents" world wide.

17. IED is spose to make it sound lo-tech and home-made.
Only we have the high-tech stuff. It's a PR gambit.
There are a number of off-the-shelf products of the
required type, and I expect Iraq is awash in them, RPGs,
SAMs, anti-armor mines.

5. THE SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST
Before their war was won = 138, After their mission accomplished = 273 more, Total young land of the free and home of the brave heroes just following orders = 411 (not counting dying wounded.). Iraqi men, women, and children evil doers massacred = Nobody is saying. Those seeking vengeance for sake of family and invaded homeland honor = most. Years for Viet Cong to come together = several. Time for Iraqi resistance to build = damned near immediate. Have a nice day.:)

insurgents? Hell I'd call them freedom fighters. Insurgents, terrorists, deadenders, what ever it's their goddamn country, they have the right to self determination.

11. "Stay the Course!"
Our leader is brave and true and he has vowed to stay the course. Tony Blankley and some other limey were gushing about it on the McLaughlin Group last night.

This president doesn't govern by polls, you know!

Staying the course always pays off in the end. Think of all the doubters who criticized Hitler for refusing to allow retreats in 1944-45. It is better that whole divisions be annihilated than that the great leader show a weakness of resolve.

15. Remember that story about the new high-tech 'Sniffers' that would put
a stop to the guerillas? About 3-4 months ago. MSGOP and other Whores ran it. These ultra-secrect-high-tech sniffers kits could tell if a person fired a gun or RPG no matter if they bathed and changed their clothing. The Media Whores said this would be the end of the attacks.

And I don't find anything in the DUsearch or google on:
iraq gunpowder soldier troops "sniffer kit"

and I know it was published everywhere.

Sniffgate.

16. "What do you expect the people to do? Kiss them?"
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 12:03 PM by htuttle

Hours after the Black Hawk helicopter went down Friday, suspected insurgents fired at least two mortar rounds into a sprawling Tikrit compound studded with Saddam's marble palaces that has been turned into a U.S. base. There were no injuries.

The U.S. Army quickly took action, reimposing a 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew that had been lifted so people could celebrate Ramadan, which lasts for another two weeks.

(snip)

Shoulder-fired rockets, a missile, and heavy machine gun fire slammed into an abandoned warehouse. Soldiers yelled, "Knock, knock," and "Good morning" in celebration as the structure crumbled amid clouds of dust and smoke.

Although most houses had their lights on, nobody dared to look outside. When a woman was heard coughing from inside one house, soldiers trained their guns and the red laser night-sights on a second-floor window. The coughing quickly stopped.

Then later,

Also, witnesses said gunmen fired Saturday afternoon at a car carrying four uniformed American soldiers, who abandoned the vehicle and fled after it broke down shortly after the shooting.

Residents who set the vehicle on fire said some of the Americans appeared to have been injured.

"They are occupying the world," said Shazad Ahmed, one of the residents. "What do you expect the people to do? Kiss them?"

19. yup they are "suspected" insurgents
I am beginning to believe that Saddam was not captured on purpose so that he can be "suspected" to be hiding in any number of suspected insuurgent civilian houses, (caves, or villages that the US wants to indeed "stay the course and bring em on so we can bomb the homes of civilians) this picture looks very familiar--reminiscent of IP photos
