Liberty in the balence: More scrutiny of peace groups
Oh yeah, back to the past we go. With Ashcroft's blessing, under-cover cops pretend to be citizens concerned about OUR government's errant military conduct... When will we ever learn? Why is it necessary to relive the misery? http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/story/7755585p-8694773c.html

1. Back before the war...
In Murfreesboro, about an hour away from where I live, there was an antiwar demo at Middle Tennessee State University. During the protest, there were a few guys dressed like a college student collecting personal information on people there, with a note pad and pen. They were going through the crowd, asking them for their names and addresses. On a front page story a day later, it was revealed that he was working for TBI. What kind of bullshit is this? Do they really think we're gonna overthrow the government?!? Canada, here we come....

4. I'm surprised they were so blatant about their infiltration
This reveals the arrogance of the current power.

It would do all of us well to familiarize ourselves with this practice and to recognize the traits of infiltrators and agent provocateurs. I have seen them in action and truth be told, they really aren't that hard to out if you keep your eyes and ears open.

2. Be afraid, be very afraid.
Some of us are old enough to remember the US Army spying on civilians in the US, and the FBI having provocateurs inside peace groups.

The ruling elites will use the full power of the State to remain in power and will not hesitate to resort to illegal methods, including assassination, to achieve their goals.

5. History ALWAYS repeats itself
Perhaps we were fools to think it could ever be any different.

6. Those who fail to learn from history
are doomed to repeat it.
