Independents Lean Against Bush, Poll Says
Independent voters are leaning against the re-election of President Bush (news - web sites) amid doubts about his handling of the economy and Iraq (news - web sites), a new poll indicates.

A majority of independents, 53 percent, said they oppose Bush's re-election, while 40 percent favor it, according to the Newsweek poll released Saturday. Republicans favor his re-election by an 86-10 margin, while Democrats oppose it by the same amount.

1. It shows that he is out of touch.
The Republicans don't realize just how out of touch he and they are and these numbers show just how badly out of touch they are.

2. And, keep in mind
it depends where those independents are that they mentioned. Are they Kansas independents or Massachusetts independents? Big difference.

But, it was a nice little piece of news to cap off my weekend. :)

3. Exactly: what independents?
What did the independent situation look like in California this year? And Kansas? And Mississippi? And what does the independent situation look like in Louisiana?

We need to expand our base folks, not chase independents.
