6. Why would they direct the AG to submit NSA stuff that he said is...
...Clasified? Won't he just tell them he can't because it's classified and the NSA won't let him?

H. Res. 643, "Directing the Attorney General to submit to the House of Representatives all documents in the possession of the Attorney General relating to warrantless electronic surveillance of telephone conversations and electronic communications of persons in the United States conducted by the National Security Agency"

8. This is want I want to hear ... sooner or later ... But not next year.
Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 06:27 PM by higher class
I want to hear when they told Congress and whether it was after they started.

I want to hear what their exact words were when they 'briefed' Congress and who was briefed and whether Republicans and Democrats heard the same message amid whether they ever met with Republicans only for any other reason.

I want to hear them say under oath that they never eavesdropped on domestic communications in any form.

I want to know the methods of eavesdropping used - with only one form of method excluded/redacted - a redaction that would apply to something new and still super secret. Otherwise, I want to hear exactly what forms of eavesdropping are being used and have been used.

I want to to know whether any one in the military, any contractor, DOD, Pentagon, DIA had any role.

I want to know whether any non-citizens participated in any form - hardware, software, first hand, second hand - data storage, data analysis, data reporting, ANYTHING.

I want to hear the names of all the lawyers who gave the go ahead - we know two.

I want to know who was dispatched for any follow-up and their connections to the WH.

I want to know if any follow-up included detention and what the follow-through was.

I want to know if data is still held and whether it is still being used and 'processed/matched/populated into other databases.

How about you?

9. Nominated - key statement here
A House staffer confirmed to The BRAD BLOG that such Saturday notices are very unusual and speculated that the White House may be becoming increasing concerned about GOP defections concerning the legality of their warrantless domestic eavesdropping program.

The staffer speculated the move may be meant as an attempt to give the House Judiciary Committee a way to say, "Well, we've had this briefing now, so there's no need for full hearings on it."

Is the Bush Administration getting nervous about growing GOP defections concerning their warrantless NSA domestic eavesdropping program?

A rare Saturday email to Congressional members announcing a last-minute scheduled briefing on Monday by the Dept. of Justice would seem to indicate that may be the case.

The email, sent earlier today and obtained by The BRAD BLOG, notified Congressional Republicans and Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee of the newly announced briefing for Monday -- in advance of next Wednesday's mark-up of two Resolutions of Inquiry being put forward in the committee.

The email announcement follows in full...

What the hell is the republican position on this?

That we just have to trust the government?!

The reason this document was written was because we're not supposed to trust the government.

Seriously - tell them you want to know HOW we KNOW that the spying was only done on people suspected of ties to Al Qaeda. How do we know that it wasn't spying on politicians? Hmmmm?

Reagon always said "Trust - but VERIFY"

PLEASE CALL.
