Pipe Bombs Found in California Mailboxes
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 9:00 a.m. ET

SUISUN CITY, Calif. (AP) -- At least eight pipe bombs have been found this month in mailboxes and near homes in this rural community about 30 miles northeast of San Francisco. Five of the homemade devices exploded.

While no one was injured and the bombs did not appear to be rigged to go off when a mailbox was opened, Solano County Sheriff Gary Stanton described the incidents as ``domestic terrorism.''

..more at article....

I do not know what to make of this......

1. pushing the idea of "domestic terrorism"; need for Patriot Act 2
Soon many things that before were simply "criminal acts" will be labeled and treated as "terrorism".
Then all of a sudden there appears to be a lot of domestic terrorism in the US, which will be reason to further reduce civil rights. Hence the 'need' for Patriot Act 2.
"Domestic terrorists" will lose US citizenship and be jailed for an undetermined amount of time without a trial, on suspicion of terrorism.

It seems far-fetched to equate pipebombs to flying jetliners into skyscrapers, but they'll spin it one way or another.

2. The article should say...
"...Solano County Sheriff Gary Stanton described the incidents as ``domestic terrorism.''" as he pulled the toothpick from his lips and then scratched his butt..

The guy sounds like a hick. Small town America sleeps safe tonight.
