President, first lady work the campaign money circuit
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/11/10/elec04.prez.bush.campaign.ap/index.html

President Bush and his wife, Laura, are splitting up re-election campaign duties, each appearing at a pair of fund-raisers -- his in the South and hers in the Northeast.

Sandwiched around the four events Monday were two speeches -- his on the economy at a BMW auto plant in Greer, South Carolina, hers in Portland, Maine, about preserving America's culture and history.

Bush's 2004 re-election campaign has raised more than $90 million, well on its way to a goal of $170 million -- a sum that can only be used for the primary season, in which he is unopposed for the Republican nomination.

The president's first fund-raiser was at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. His visit to Arkansas comes just days after reports of lagging state revenue collections and the highest state jobless rate in 10 years signal a sluggish state economic recovery.

3. That note shows Dumbya's creativity and originality
I'll bet that some songwriters will soon be borrowing phrases from Dubya's touching birthday tribute to his lovely wife.

5. why does it seem she is always reading to black kids?
Edited on Mon Nov-10-03 04:09 PM by Marianne
I hardly ever see her reading to white kids--is there a message there? those kids look as though they are certainly of an age that they can read--why is she reading to these older kids? Why doesn't this frump let the kids read to her? These kids look like they are wearing uniforms. Is this a parochial school, or a religious school, friends of Bush, anxious for their faith based money, or their voucher money?

8. I'm sure it all PR. You know make them look like they care
You know, all the money WE are spending to give Iraqi kids textbooks without Saddam's picture in them sure could come in handy 'round here don't you think?

I have no idea what the deal with this particular school is but I am sure that the choice of one with uniforms is no accident either.
