Singapore troops in Iraq for oil, war on terror
SINGAPORE: Singapore has deployed military personnel to Iraq to further its national interests in oil and to stop the spread of terrorism, the city-state’s Defence Minister, Teo Chee Hean, said here Monday. “It is important that Singapore does our part within our means to help the international community see through the reconstruction of Iraq,” Teo told parliament. “Security and stability in the Gulf region has significant implications for issues that are critical to Singapore, such as the supply of oil and the spread of terrorism. “We may be geographically distant from Iraq, but how the situation turns out there has a direct bearing on some of our most vital interests.” Singapore is a tiny Southeast Asian nation with no oil reserves of its own. It is also one of Washington’s strongest Asian allies in the war against terror. Iraq has the world’s second largest known oil reserves in the world. —AFP

That's all there is at this point. Amazing they come right out and say they are in it FOR THE OIL. Of course, Bushco is there because he likes the people.
