Thomasville Furniture To Layoff 200 Workers

Officials with Thomasville Furniture announced Monday they will be laying off 200 people over the next 60 to90 days. The first round of layoffs will take place at the end of this week. Officials stressed that this is not a plant closing, but rather a rebalancing of employment levels.

Tyler Pipe Layoff Continues

Around 500 Tyler Pipe workers remain unemployed today as a shutdown at the companies South Plant enters week three. The plant closed it's doors back on October 17 due to air permit problems.

2. Thomasville furniture comes from North Carolina, I think!
I know it is indeed very fine furniture. Before I came to the poor house (low income - housing authority) I remember having Thomasville furniture.

There are quite a few furniture manufacturers in North Carolina. I'm afraid they may go the way of the Textile Industry there.

Yes, * is doing a wonderful job! My Gosh, what a stirring recovery. we even had one month with a minor job gain vs years of decline. It is impressive beyond belief. Way to Go *!

if and when they will figure out that the mcjobs being created are low paying, no ones gonna be buying fine furniture. Or any high end item for that matter.
