ROOBOY--That Tony Blair came to Washington to get--far more valuble to him right now than any "Congressional Gold Medal" could have been, as this threatened to be the next firestorm he'd have to fight at home. Given the thin ice he's treading upon right now anyway, these guys going on "trial" at Guantanamo was the LAST new P.R. hit he needed.
I'll give Tony one thing--he sure DELIVERS his lies on Iraq far more eloquently than Dub's moronic stammering! :eyes:

4. There was an interesting point made by a BBC pundit... |
|
who said that this doesn't really change much, since not all of the terror suspects are being held at Guantanamo Bay. All of the "real" terrorist suspects are being held on ships, in military bases or in third countries.
He didn't seem to think that this suspension would achieve anything more than a mere delay of the inevitable.

As in until no one's looking? As in prolong indefinite detention? Stop gap.

Not! Blair took a beating on this issue last week when I was watching him in Parliment. I don't think he felt he could go home again without this concession....though I'd love to know what he had to give * in return.

If you get to see Tony in shorts, look for carpet-burn marks on his knees.
