TIKRIT, Iraq (Reuters) - A U.S. soldier was killed Tuesday evening when his vehicle drove over a bomb planted on a road north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said Wednesday.

"A 4th Infantry Division soldier was killed by an IED (improvised explosive device) which detonated under the vehicle he was traveling in," spokeswoman Major Josslyn Aberle said.... (more)

1. The answer is blown in the wind.
How many deaths will it take 'till they know,

4. I plan to recheck your links and I have a question.
I know little of internet so this may seem a silly question. TV was talking about terror sites and reading their sites. How can the terror put on sites and someone not know where it comes from? I can understand e-mail. I could go any place and send that but how do you put up a site? Don't you have to go through some center to get a site on? Like I use metrocast so to do anything wouldn't they know if I put on a site? Since I could go to Cal. and use a free PC to e-mail some one I see that type thing but this has me wondering.

2. I'm noticing the bomb descriptions
They always seem to be described as amateur affairs--improvised or homemade--as if to take away from the seriousness of the death.

3. Me too
They don't want to admit the work of professionals. Especially the downing of Black Hawk near Tikrit with an RPG. That is a shot of a true military guru. I know of only one case that the army could brag about the similar achievement and that happened in the Balkan war.

The DoD better start treating them seriously, because the those fighters in Iraq are top-notch fighters. Disabling the tank? Shooting down BH with RPG? Sounds like Saddam's special republican guards are back in action.

8. The M1-A1 was not disabled. It was destroyed

I read some of the reports of the attack. One report said the hole into the tank was so small you could not get your finger into it. But inside the tank everything was blown to smithereens.

9. technically, they may be

it may be a propaganda mechanism on the part of the occupation authorities and their lackeys in the media, but I don't assume these are "regulation" mines being used.

One technique I've heard of used in Iraq on occasion, more often in Chechnya, is rigging unexploded tank shells & artillery that the invaders left littering around to a radio-detonated grenade of sorts. The benefit is that the fighters can make due with what is at hand, without needing the billions that the invaders wastes to do the same job.

It has the same effect ("boom"), but may not impress the professional arms dealers running this recolonization crusade.

10. Its called a booby trap
A 500 lb bomb trigered to explode by a mousetrap, will ruin your day and turn you into a RED CLOUD, if buried 2 feet away from where your foot touches the trap.

Seen this before "Guess Where"

5. THE SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST
THE SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST: Before their war was won = 138, After their mission accomplished = 275 more, Total young land of the free and home of the brave heroes just following orders = 413 (not counting dying wounded.). Iraqi men, women, and children evil doers massacred = Nobody is saying. Those seeking vengeance for sake of family and invaded homeland honor = most. Years for Viet Cong to come together = several. Time for Iraqi resistance to build = damned near immediate. Have a nice day.:)
