Blair 'prayed to God' over Iraq
Prime Minister Tony Blair says he prayed to God when deciding whether or not to send UK troops to Iraq.

Mr Blair answered "yes" when asked on ITV1 chat show Parkinson if he had sought holy intervention on the issue.

"Of course, you struggle with your own conscience about it... and its one of these situations that, I suppose, very few people ever find themselves in."

....

"In the end, there is a judgement that, I think if you have faith about these things, you realise that judgement is made by other people... and if you believe in God, it's made by God as well," Mr Blair said.

Are there no depths of blasphemy to which this loathsome hypocrite will not stoop ?

7. It must have been the Homer Simpson prayer:
"...I present you this offering of cookies and milk. If you want me to eat them for you, give me no sign. Thy will be done."

8. I don't agree with this, but it's less inapprorpriate for Blair than *
as Britain actually does have a state church. But I still don't think it's right.

Dear Tony,

I believe in God too and I asked him about you and he told me you were a lying, murdering punk.

Sincerely,

MMA.

p.s. I don't think hell will want you either because you're a servile poodle and will ruin their image.

14. ah, memories.
Reminds me of a story about the segregationist governor of Georgia, Lester Maddox.

Someone came up to him and handed him a fat check and said, "The Lord told me to give that to you."

Maddox, suspecting that the guy would later be asking for a favor in return for the generous gift replied, "The same Lord told me not to take it."

24. Tony prayed to the Anglican God
and Chimpy prayed to Halliburton.

Halliburton is a much more demanding God! He's gotten 2300 American scarifies and 40,000 Iraqi while the Anglican God has only gotten 100 British although I'm unsure of the Iraqi sacrifices...

27. prayers asking for a specific answer
or result are often accompanied by closed ears by the one praying (eg they will only "hear" one answer) and it is arrogant to suggest that then it is/was the will of God.

33. And what did the Almighty had to say to Tony "The Poodle"?
On the other hand, Blair was probably more correct when he recollected the following:

Mr Blair, trying to answer in French, replied: "I desire your prime minister in many different positions."

and then, there is Blair's "eureka" moment:

Elsewhere in the interview, Mr Blair recalled Labour's 1997 election victory. "People used to like me then," he said.

Our beloved planet, a happy accident in our vast cosmos, is being destroyed by madmen that speak to the gods inside their heads.
