Bush pays tribute to Italian dead
US President George W Bush today paid tribute to the Italian soldiers killed in a suicide bomb attack in Iraq and the determination of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to fight "terrorism".

"Italy lost some proud sons in the interests of freedom and peace," Bush told a Washington press conference of the 17 Italian soldiers and police killed at their base in southern Iraq.

1. Italy? Where's that?
According to Bush. Another question he might ask, given that he didn't know Brazil had black people: Say, do you have any Italians there?

394+ American dead and the 7700 non-fatality injuries or disabilities resulting from *'s oily war?

6. He got to that faster than he got to the Blackhawk helicopter dead...
I guess he knows that the military can't bail and the Italians can.

7. Some Illustrative Quotes
"Please tell Mussolini I will never forget him for this.... I will never forget, whatever may happen. If he should ever need any help or be in any danger, he can be convinced that I shall stick to him, whatever may happen, even if the whole world were against him." -Adolf Hitler, 1934

"We cannot count less than Slovakia and the other minor states. I have to be at Hitler's side in Russia.... Italy's destiny is intimately bound up with Germany's." -Benito Mussolini, 1941

"The Duce is not convinced as to the course of affairs.... The tone of his conversation today was distinctly pessimistic.... He is afraid that Germany is facing a task that is too much for her, and will not reach a complete solution of the whole problem before winter, which reveals a lot of unknown factors." -Galeazzo Ciano, 1941
