Everett, Washington-AP -- A college student charged with plotting to bomb Coast Guard and Army National Guard stations has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of trying to obtain explosives.

Paul Revak's attorney says his client doesn't have a "mean bone in his body." He says Revak was just frustrated with the Bush administration's Iraq policy and "got a little carried away."

Under a plea agreement in Everett, Washington, the attorney says Revak hopes to be home by Christmas. He could have faced up to life in prison if convicted of threatening to use a weapon of mass destruction.
