Charlie Gibson: WNT's "Temporary Permanent Replacement"

Charlie Gibson will become the "temporary permanent replacement" for ABC's Bob Woodruff, the New York Post's Cindy Adams says.

Translation: If and when Woodruff, who this week is on his feet and talking, is ready to be back playing anchor man -- he gets it. That is not expected to be this year. But when and if, it's his again.

In the meantime, Gibson will co-anchor World News Tonight. "He very much wants this job and out of morning TV. The man's done enough cooking segments to last two lifetimes," Adams says, adding that "ABC will announce Gibson soon."

Charlie boy is another in the long list of draft-dodging cowards from my generation. That POS had the temerity to question Kerry's decision to throw his Viet Nam medals/ribbons over the wall during the VVAW protests in WDC. In the run up to the 2004 election Gibson made an ass of himself trying to nail Kerry on the medal tossing issue. I found it abhorrent that a yellow-bellied chickenhawk who would not serve his country in uniform dared question a combat veteran about his protest against the war.

I WILL NEVER watch Gibson and I ask that DU viewers boycott that POS!

...when Junior, reminded of the rules, threw a temper tantrum and continued speaking anyway, while Charlie looked on shocked and speechless. The "Furious George Moment," as it was soon called. The moment when we got to see the spoiled little frat boy come out in all his "presidential" glory.
