Iraq deaths take toll on voters, Bush's popularity in heartland
http://www.boston.com/dailynews/317/nation/Iraq_deaths_take_toll_on_voter:.shtml
By Ron Fournier, Associated Press, 11/13/2003 01:28

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (AP) John Webb wears an 82nd Airborne Division cap atop his shock of gray hair and a grimace across his craggy face every pleat and pucker a memory from World War II.
...
''It was a mistake to get into Iraq. It's a mistake not to get out. Got that? Mistake! Mistake! Mistake!'' the Republican says, jabbing the air with his smoking spear. ''You know what I'd like to tell the president? Get out! Get going! Get gone! Now.''

Ranting outside American Legion Post 261, some 250 miles from the polls and politics of Washington, Webb stands testament to a sentiment that could threaten President Bush's re-election hopes. Death in Iraq is taking its toll politically as local media coverage of each body bag and burial drives home the costs of war.
...
This steady drizzle of death is creeping into the American consciousness, causing even independent and Republican-leaning voters like Webb to question Bush's policies.

''I liked Bush. He comes off as a decent fellow, a good Christian. The whole works,'' says Webb, 77, who parachuted into France as part of the D-Day invasion.

''But as commander in chief? No way. Not now.''

... continued ....

1. ya no
i had a brother inlaw , who was able to lie and cheat his way into my oldest sisters heart for 30 years , wearing black eyes and being unfaithful was part of the deal she had to endure , little jr. is a carbon copy of this man who thought of no one but himself and no thoughts of his children and wife and family threw out the years , so jr. is a nothing to me and there is no room for nothings in this life on earth , but for some reason the good fall in life and the foolish still keep going ,

6. THE SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST
Before their war was won = 138, After their mission accomplished = 276 more, Total young land of the free and home of the brave heroes just following orders = 414 (not counting dying wounded.). Iraqi men, women, and children evil doers massacred = Nobody is saying. Those seeking vengeance for sake of family and invaded homeland honor = most. Years for Viet Cong to come together = several. Time for Iraqi resistance to build = damned near immediate. Have a nice day.:)

8. Why do you think Bush is moving like crazy to get out now?
The poor go into the service and the poor states are red on the whole.
