Dollar under pressure on worries about Iraq
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20031113/ts_alt_afp/forex_europe&cid=1506&ncid=1473

LONDON (AFP) - The euro rose against the dollar due to a combination of welcome positive-territory growth figures in Germany and France and increasing unease about the United States's position in Iraq.

The single European currency was at 1.1693 dollars in early European trading from 1.1631 late on Wednesday in New York.

The dollar was at 108.30 yen from 108.86 on Wednesday.

The US currency has faced increasing pressure in the wake of a suicide bombing at an Italian military base in the souther Iraqi city of Nasiriya on Wednesday which killed at least 18 Italians and nine Iraqis.
