White House calls on Iran 'to come clean' about its nuclear activities

By Reuters

WASHINGTON - The White House on Thursday called on
Iran to "come clean" about its nuclear activities
and said a UN watchdog agency's report raised
"very serious concerns" even though it found no
evidence Tehran has a nuclear weapons program.

White House national security
adviser Condoleezza Rice
disputed Iranian suggestions
that the report of the
International Atomic Energy
Agency laid "to rest any
concerns about what's going
on in Iran."

"I think that's, shall I say,
an overstatement of the
case," Rice told reporters.

"The IAEA report made clear that the Iranians
have been concealing, that they've not been
truthful in the past. And I think the issue now
is are they going to be truthful in the future?
Are they going to come clean about what had
been going on Iran, what is going on in Iran?"
Rice asked. (snip/...)

1. And if they say they don't have nuclear ambitions, well then
we know they are lying.

Where have I heard this before?

4. They better do it or Bush will hit them with his purse. God knows we
don't have enough soldiers to harm them. Thank god.
For them and the soldiers.

5. Everybody else says you're clean, but we know you're lying....
...is this starting to sound like a familiar pattern?

This very same ploy has been used by Chimp and the Chimpsters on Iraq, North Korea, Syria, and now on Iran.

The stage is being set to launch attacks on both Syria and Iran. My best guess is that the attacks will probably not take place until AFTER the 2004 elections.

Keep in mind that the Bushies are also trying to push the responsibilities for governing Iraq onto the Iraqis...an act that will free up large numbers of troops. By the way, the Bushies did that exact same thing in Afghanistan...they pushed the reponsibilities for governing that country onto a so-called provisional government which freed up troops for use in Iraq.

Also, the Pentagon has issued orders to approximately 120,000 troops to be ready to deploy to the Middle East. The cover story is that they are being sent over to relieve the troops already in Iraq, but I'm beginning to seriously wonder about that.

8. I think Iran made a strategic error. Maybe N. Korea has it "right."
Weakness only dares the neo-cons to make their move. Iran's talk about "complying" with this or that Western demand will only arouse more calls for obedience. They are falling into a trap.

9. I don't know about that. It is really about the oil and control of that
region. I don't thing it has anything to do with cajones.
