U.S. changes Iraq transition course
The president also noted that Bremer, during his two days of urgent talks at the White House, said Iraqis want to be more involved in the transition to self-rule. “That’s a positive development,” Bush said

That's the ticket - we didn't know the Iraquis wanted to be involved in their own government.

1. the obvious question is "why now?" ... I guess the media chose not
to ask the hard questions....

I thought they said they "had a plan"...and there for the "long haul" etc....

The sad fact is if ***** just came out and said "hey...I need to get out before the elction"....the sheeple would say "ok".

3. I saw George say this on TV
Like it was a new development - turns out the Iraquis want to have a role in their government - who woulda thunk it? Bremer came to deliver the news - the Iraquis want to be in charge.

8. They're not leaving without the oil
We'll set up a puppet junta as soon as we can to try and relieve the heat, but we're not going anywhere. If we leave now, we virtually guarantee that we get no oil, we'll be assailed everywhere and our future ability to bully will be severely crimped.

We want that oil, and the PNAC wants to secure Israel's flank at all costs.
