Portuguese reporter wounded in Iraq, one seized

LISBON, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Gunmen wounded a Portuguese reporter and kidnapped a second in southern Iraq on Friday, radio station TSF said.

Armed men opened fire on a column of three jeeps in which Portuguese reporters were travelling into southern Iraq from Kuwait, TSF said in a statement.

Maria Joao Ruela, a reporter for Portuguese TV network SIC, was shot in the leg. She is being treated in a British military hospital in the city of Basra.

The gunmen seized TSF reporter Carlos Raleiras and his whereabouts are unknown, the statement said. Raleiras and Ruela were travelling in the same vehicle, and the other two jeeps in the group escaped.
