Bush mourns Americans killed in helicopter crash in Iraq
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2003-11-16-bush-mourns_x.htm
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush said Sunday that "it's a sad day" no matter what caused a deadly helicopter crash in Iraq and that the security situation there — not the political process — will determine when American troops depart.
"It's sad, it's a sad day when you lose life," Bush said at the White House upon his return from a weekend in Camp David.

"It doesn't matter whether it's in a chopper crash or an IED (improvised explosive device), the loss of life is sad."

"It depends on what's taking place on the ground," he said. "We'll adjust our troop levels according to the security situation in Iraq."

1. But remember, the *saddest* thing
about being "president" is that you have to cut down on your workout time.

2. Well strangely enough
"It's sad, it's a sad day when you lose life,"
WHEN you lose your life...you aren't sad...you are dead. It is your loved ones and the country having a sad sad day.
:kick:

7. absolutely--he is incapable of putting together a coherent sentence
he is simply plain stupid. There is no other reason --he is stupid. He cannot string together a coherent sentence. He is not in charge of anything at all--he simply is too stupid--he is the evil idiot who escaped from a village mental health hospital in Texas.

11. it would have been more correct
to say "lives" - but that would acknowledge that lives were being lost - so to minimize the issue (one more time) we hear him say "life" - stupid cruel and corrupt

4. Hmmm, hey butt head, are you saying it's time to bring them home?
the security situation there — not the political process — will determine when American troops depart.

I cannot think of a worse security situation that would validate that decision.

5. Bush can't mourn. He's a fucking sadist.
Just ask Karla Faye Tucker, who he mocked after her death in the sickest way possible. "Please don't kill me!"

Traitorous monster.

10. He could make up for it by enlisting his daughters...
...that would show the American people that we ALL must share the sacrifice- not just "those other people"

That goes for all college age Republicans who REFUSE to enlist...

14. The chimp: What he says vs. What he means

Chimp:"It's sad, it's a sad day when you lose life,"

Chimp's tiny brain: Yeah, it's sad to have news like this ahead of my big British photo op.

Chimp:"It doesn't matter whether it's in a chopper crash or an IED (improvised explosive device), the loss of life is sad."

Chimp's itty-bitty brain: All those good weapons going to waste. Tsk, Tsk.

Chimp:"It depends on what's taking place on the ground," he said. "We'll adjust our troop levels according to the security situation in Iraq."

And that little brain says: Of course I mean the troops and security coming with me to England. If things are rough in Iraq, we may have to crack some British skulls. I don't give a damn about those stupid fucking soldiers in Iraq.

when the Chinook went down because he didn't want to 'single out' people or incidents? Not even any consistency in their idiocy....
Q Are you concerned that if the President specifically addresses this attack and the 16 killed, that the President will then get into the situation where he's commenting every day on the death of a soldier? Is that why the President is not going to speak publicly and reference this?

MR. McCLELLAN: I think the President speaks publicly often, and will continue to, about the outstanding job our men and women in the military are doing, and about the sacrifices that they are making to make the world a better and safer place, and to make America more secure. And he talks on a regular basis about the fact that we mourn the loss of every one of our fallen soldiers. They are serving and sacrificing for an important cause.

Q Will we hear from the President today about the attack in Iraq?

> MR. McCLELLAN: He often talks about -- again, he often talks about Iraq, and I expect he will continue to talk about -- I'm sorry?

Q Nothing --

MR. McCLELLAN: He tends to talk in about every speech about how we mourn the loss the life and the sacrifices that our troops are making.

Q But he's not going to hold a --

MR. McCLELLAN: In many speeches, he --

Q But he's not going to say, the 15 -- the 16 lives that were lost --

MR. McCLELLAN: Again, I think it's important to remember that there are a number of our men and women in the military who are serving and sacrificing. And we mourn the loss of every one who has fallen in the cause of defending freedom and making the world a better and safer place.
