LONDON - More than one in three Britons think Mr George W. Bush is stupid and a majority branded the US President a threat to world peace in opinion poll results published yesterday.
With Mr Bush due here tomorrow for a state visit, British Prime Minister Tony Blair conceded that opponents of US policy in Iraq were 'rubbing their hands at the scope for embarrassing him'.
Even though widespread anti-US protests are in the offing, Mr Blair, writing for The News of The World, yesterday said: 'I believe passionately there could not be a better moment for him to come to the UK than now.
'Despite the doubters, I am convinced the visit of President Bush this week is in the best interests of this country and the world.'
