Tip-to-tip it's roughly the same length ~3000 miles. Nothing quite like Alaska:).

6. Amchitka is one of the places the US tested nukes
Big time. US blew off a couple of big nasty nuclear puppies there in the 1970s.

Riots Break Out After Tsunami warning

BREAKING NEWS

Associated Press Nome, AK: Alaskan Eskimos rioted across Alaska this morning after the National Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning following a 7.5 mag earth quake centered 55 miles SW of Anchorage.

Numerous iglos were burned down, along with dozens of over turned dog sleads and kayaks. A number of children were hit with snow balls, although no injuries have been reported.

Nanook of the North will be making a statement later this morning appealing for calm.

11. DRUDGE SPREADS TERROR WITH FALSE WARNING OF TSUNAMI
Drudgereport, the nearly-forgotten right-wing mouthpiece operated by closeted Matt Drudge, is perpetuating his famous pattern of posting false news stories and leaving them up for hours after they have been debunked, this time by terrorizing Alaska with a false Tsunami warning. Drudge's defense, as usual, is that he was "busy stalking boys and didn't have an opportunity" to update his site.
