Media tycoon Conrad Black resigns

Conrad Black is to step down as chief executive of a global media empire that includes the UK's Daily and Sunday Telegraph newspapers.

The announcement came as the company, Hollinger International, said it was considering putting itself up for sale.

The move follows an internal inquiry which found that Lord Black and other executives had received more than $32m (£19m) in unauthorised payments.

The group's other assets include the Chicago Sun-Times and Jerusalem Post.


So how much of these unauthorised payments went to Richard Perle directly or were to pay for deals that he brokered? Just one more high crime and misdemeanor that the media can ignore.

self-serving corporate crook, what else is new. Now, can anybody
explain to me why this joker is sitting in the House of Lords
istead of being in jail where he belongs?

I hope the investigation looks at it all in depth regardless whether Black and his cohorts pay the money back.
