BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Two U.S. soldiers were killed and two wounded in attacks north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday, the U.S. military said.
A U.S. military spokesman said the soldiers were killed in separate attacks early Monday near the town of Balad, about 60 miles north of Baghdad.

3. I wonder when a strategic turn takes place... casualties increase.
Are these patrols' casualties low because there are few troops on them, or is it because the attacks are crude? I wonder. It does seem that they are getting more deadly with "experience." I can only think that as time goes on that new methods will be employed on all sides which will increase the death toll--especially for Iraqi civilians but also for western soldiers.

13. The Ruskies are speculating IMPEACHMENT in their article --Bushgate
They think it would be good not only for the USA, but for the world. :-)

<clips>

George Bush Junior can easily become the first US president confronting an impeachment process due to foreign policy reasons. American business in Iraq is going not just bad, but too bad. The question can be posed simply: do the States need another Vietnam? No sane man would say yes (and this problem is not only an American business). But Iraq has become "Vietnam" de-facto. And it is George W. Bush who should be praised for this.

...An idea of impeachment of George Bush, Jr. was already discussed in press after the September the 11th tragedy, when it was found out that the White House knew about possible terrorist attacks but did nothing to prevent it. The administration, however, silenced those voices, using among others an old means, tried by Bill Clinton as well when American jets stroke Iraq in 1998, in the middle of "Monicagate" scandal. That was not too much help for Clinton, but worked well enough for Bush: mass-media and public switched their attention to possible war with Iraq, successfully forgetting the scandals around September the 11th.

The White House did not expect Iraq to pose any serious problems, clearly. This war was seen a nice easy walk, which would greatly support prestige of George Bush and his team. It happened as they thought, indeed. Washington made no mistake presuming weakness of Hussein's regime, as obvious as it was after the 12 years of international sanctions imposed against Iraq. Craving to get rid of Saddam altogether in one day overwhelmed all sane reasons in favor of sane solutions to problems of international relations. In the end it all happened as certain analysts warned: destruction of Saddam's army does not mean the war is over.

A remarkable fact: in a few months after Baghdad was taken over by American troops, a question of Bush's impeachment was raised again. Santa-Cruz city council proclaimed it was going to file the impeachment, accusing Bush in starting the war in Iraq, breaches against international agreements and that by manipulating Americans (using their fear of terrorism) he limited their constitutional rights.

The last one won't count at all.

Except to the soldier's family.

Totally disgusting.

There will be nothing more mentioned officially, about the 3rd one ever again

8. wtf is this? They are not counting the 17 helo deaths?
until they find out how they died? I think they died in combat did they not?!?

<snip>The attacks brought to 162 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in guerrilla attacks in Iraq (news - web sites) since President Bush (news - web sites) declared major combat over on May 1.

That figure does not include the 17 soldiers who were killed when two U.S. Black Hawk helicopters collided and crashed in the northern city of Mosul Saturday night. The U.S. military says it is still investigating the incident.

10. Looks Like The Old Fuzzy Math
GDP, Unemployment numbers, DEATHS IN IRAQ. Wake UP fucking people.

Hey Bush these (military re: troops... are you still clueless about this as well) folks are DEAD. What kind of fucking investigation do you need to determine that?

Here's my investigation:

US troops are in a hostile country INVOVLED IN COMBAT and they have been killed. Therefore they have been killed in combat.

How fucking simple is that?

What a bunch of pathetic and reptilian assholes.

I need a mini gun. Just to amuse myself of course. They are quite cute.

I know how you feel. It's sickening the way they play with numbers that represent dead loved ones.

May these traitorous fuckers burn for a long, long time.

17. Cheney is probably advising on how to do the accounting
Arthur Anderson style:

The video, which fell into the hands of the Wall Street Journal, was made in 1996 when Mr Cheney was at Halliburton and showed his personal relationship with Andersen.

In it, he describes how Andersen gave advice "over and above" what would normally be expected from auditors.

In a short section of the video, Mr Cheney says: "I get good advice, if you will, from their people, based upon how we are doing business and how we are operating, over and above the normal, by-the-books auditing arrangement."

19. THE SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST:
Before their war was won = 138, After their mission accomplished = 297 more, Total young land of the free and home of the brave heroes just following orders = 435 (not counting dying wounded.). Iraqi men, women, and children evil doers massacred = Nobody is saying. Those seeking vengeance for sake of family and invaded homeland honor = most. Years for Viet Cong to come together = several. Time for Iraqi resistance to build = damned near immediate. Have a nice day.:)
