America can wage war again, alone: Bush
London, Nov. 17 (Reuters): The US would wage war again, and alone if necessary, to ensure the long-term safety of the world, President George W. Bush said in an interview published today.

Bush told Britain’s leading tabloid, the Sun, on the eve of a state visit that he felt compelled to act following the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York and Washington.

“I was at Ground Zero after the attacks,” he said. “I remember this haze and the smells and the death and destruction. I’ll always remember that. I made up my mind right then. We were at war and we were going to win the war. And I still feel that determination today.”

The paper quoted Bush as saying US forces and their coalition allies had ended the tyranny of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, smashed the grip of Osama bin Laden’s al Qaida network in Afghanistan and forced the UN to stop turning its back on terror.

<snip>

“I set big goals,” he said. “I know what we’re doing is going to have a positive effect on this world.”

4. I remember a totally different Bush
cowardly sneaking from one location to another with eyes full of fear and pants full of ..... (well you know what). He was jumping from location to another and changing planes like socks, while uncle Dick put on a kevlar helmet and hid in the underground bunker.
He didn't make up his minde, probably his puppeteers made up their mind long before 911, and it is called PNAC.

And I also recall that there was this guy named Clinton who got to NYC from Australia as quickly as possible to be there and help out where he could.

5. Ever play 'opposite' when you were a kid?
That's exactly how you should interpret whatever comes out of his fraudulency's mouth.

example:
"I set big goals,” he said. “I know what we’re doing is going to have a positive effect on this world.”

Since it's "opposite" day, week, year, century.....here in bizarro world:

Interpretation:
"I set little goals,” he said. “I know what we’re doing is going to have a negative effect on this world.”

“I was at Ground Zero after the attacks,” he said. “I remember this haze and the smells and the death and destruction. I’ll always remember that. I made up my mind right then. We were at war and we were going to win the war. And I still feel that "

He DOES know that he attacked the wrong country, right?

32. Perhaps it's because Bunnypants* waited so long to visit NYC
If I recall correctly: both Clintons, Schumer, and many others visited NYC before the Emperor*.

Or perhaps it's because they suppressed the air quality data, thus causing some of the best and bravest New Yorkers a lifetime of respiratory problems by lying to them.

Of course, he had to dig himself out of that hole he was so gutlessly hiding in first.

8. Like so many of Smirky's statements
It's true, but he means something different from what he's saying.

If it had to, the US could go to war again. The American people would accept the sacrifices, they would even accept a draft, if there were a foreign power threatening the security of the United States. But Iraq didn't meet that condition, and neither do Syria and Iran.

What a fucking dumbass.

10. The responses here are telling
Bush and the Repubs have been, generally, stomping the guts out of progressives for some time. Calling him an idoit is an exercise in underestimating you opponent.

The Drug Bill, that will likely pass, is another example. He did an end run around us. We had total control of every branch of government in the recent past and failed to get a medicare bill past.

Perhaps Gov. Dean (soon to be Pres. Dean) will create a movement to take back the Democratic Party from the money/power brokers who now hold it's reins.

What will get Dean elected is that he is more Pro-Gun than Bush, who is apt to re-up the Assualt Weapons Ban. All the red areas between both coasts will go blue overnight.

Still, there's congress to take next. Coat tails from Dean won't do it.

We have to have a vision and, as Bush puts it, Big Goals.

Right now, we have no vision and wennie goals. So sad.

This is probably my 15th alert on your posts, I'm sorry to say you just don't have much credibility in my book and I think you might just be ready to go bye-bye....

25. Not exactly. Bush is just a figure head.
And he isn't realy in charge. Bush is just a figure head that can be tossed away if things get too hot. The real power can be seen by thoes who have been in power for a long time. Pearl, Rumsfeld, Wofwitz. Just to name there, are the true Kings. And they can loard of a Democrat just as easly as they can over W. This is why this comming primary will be telling.

“I was at Ground Zero after the attacks,” he said. “I remember this haze and the smells and the death and destruction. I’ll always remember that. I made up my mind right then. We were at war and we were going to win the war. And I still feel that determination today.”

He used to say he made up his mind in the school when Andy Card told him we were under attack. Wish he could keep at least one of his lies straight. :eyes:

21. The Chimp must be stopped!
He is the greatest threat to life on this planet ever known to man! Each military step he takes emboldens him - it's like an addiction at this point, and I don't believe he will stop, barring an act of "God".

Isn't anyone in the world bold enough to put a stop to this? - It seems that everywhere greed and corruption and the lust for power prevents those who are capable of stopping him from doing so.

I am beginning to think this nighmare will never end.

27. Someone or some government does need to put an end to this
Surely some government must has some kind of information or intelligence that would embaress Bush, or something that would destroy him, make him unelectable. Or just as good, maybe they have something on some media whores and they can start picking them off one by one. It's a twofold fight in my opinion, we have to go after Bush and the Whore Media.

26. Trying to spin the truth again
and in the same way. "I was at ground 0 after the attacks" and the description that follows suggests "right after" while being technically defendable if necessary. The purpose here is to appear, again, as the classical American Hero so as to counter the pervasive, and rightful, perception that he is a coward who just lost it. This perception has to be set first for the war-mongering sell to have a chance to go through without being read as profit-making enterprise safely organized from the rear. Which it is.
Whoever debates him will have to knock him down or the spin is gonna keep on spinning.

31. He's crazy
and needs to be taken out of any position of authority.

There is something obscene about the photos on the Yahoo slideshow showing the Queen, Bush and the frump all dressed up--Bush in his tux with the pants sagging over his shoes again, Laura in her home made sewing project of an atrocity, and the Queen, in a nice glittery gold and both of them wearing diamonds -- while in Iraq, Bush is killing more and more civilians and our boys and girls are dying daily due to attacks by the resistance. There is something obscene about this threesome cavorting around in finery while Iraq smells like a cesspool. I know there will be protests and I am pleased to see that no one gave in to Bush's demands--but there will be nothing effective really until people arm themselves with pitchforks and shovels and storm the bastille, or the pig farm or Camp David or any other place the little coward likes to hide. I hate to see these propaganda photo ops as if he deserves all of this pomp--he is nothing but a pimp for the PNAC and the warmongers who surround him.

37. I'm tired of this vaudeville act
this stupid , ignorant guy killed thousands of people and did so on a lie. All on a lie! HE is also responsible for the deaths of more than 400 of our troops and he and his dumbassed wife are traipsing around with royalty as if they themselves are royalty, and make no mistake that is the intended connection. He is despicable--he needs to be removed from coming anywhere near governing this country in the future. That he is now able to get coverage on CNN in this type and hype with the British monarchy is absolutely obscene--obscene!. This is disgusting and I am sick of it. American has lost it's soul. He is an evil man--

what right does he have to go there and claim this "honor" as if he is a real intelligent, and superb leader of the "free" world. He is a prick--and he is an AWOL little coward of a prick--he is a total manufactured man who is the worst person I can think of who has ever claimed to be a leader in America-he is a serial killer--a mass murderer and here we have him and his frump - a -lump being celebrated in London as if they were high class royalty? What is this shit? Pathetic the way we are all being jerked around.
