Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 12:19 PM by denverbill
How could a search of Jackson's home have given them evidence of molestation? Unless he actually took pictures.

That guy is beyond weird. IMO, he is seriously mentally defective.

5. Totally.
"That guy is beyond weird. IMO, he is seriously mentally defective."

He's a danger to himself. The doctors who have been doing his surgeries should be struck off, they shouldn't be performing surgeries of those kinds on someone with an obvious mental health problem.

12. I hear the drums of the coming culture war
Even if Jackson is sick and needs helpthat doesn't excuse using him as another wedge of outrage for polarizing this country on (so-called) issues of sexual morality. Looking at the stats, obviously the Republican base of rabid and uninformed statist christian voters, is beginning to back slowly away from Bush. The Bushco cognitive dissonance that's happening on the Iraq war is impossible to deny at this point, even for the willfuly blind.

I think we may now be subjected to several weeks of emotionally disturbing details on this, or some other story. Politically, a fire has to be lit under the erupting culture war to distract us from the horrific failures of the Bush administration.

After thought:

Driving to work this morning I wondered why the Massachusettes legislation on gay civil union/marriage suddenly hit the news seemingly out of nowhere.

Public Radio International had a story on about the justices who put this legislation forward. Turns out they're Republican appointees. It might make many gay activists euphoric at the moment, but I have my doubts. (It most cerainly is serving as an emotional trigger event for mobilizing the brownshirts on the ground right now.)

So I say, here we go folks. Lot's of moral red herrings on the way. Dems need to refuse to be baited into allowing anything from distracting us from the many hard issues involving the criminality and failure of the Republican leadership.

4. I'll say it one more time.....WHAT ABOUT THE PARENTS????
.....they KNEW before they sent their child to stay there what kind of shit might take place and obviously didn't CARE...or maybe they just want to get PAID OFF for allowing their child to be *molested* by him...it's beyond my comprehension how everybody blames Jacko instead of the PARENTS OF THESE CHILDREN!!!! :eyes: :evilfrown:

17. yes that is so true....
....yet it still amazes me that so many concider MJ to be the monster in all this when it's the parents who contiuously send their children to stay at his home to be subjected to his bizarre antics...just another prime example of why so many people shouldn't be allowed to have children at all. :evilfrown:

"...just another prime example of why so many people shouldn't be allowed to have children at all"

"Jackson dangles baby off balcony"

(excerpt)
The baby kicked helplessly as he lifted it over the balcony rail of the Adlon Hotel for a brief but chilling few seconds.

There were gasps from the crowd of around 200 fans as it seemed at one stage as if the struggling baby was in danger of falling to the ground.

Jackson was holding the baby with only one hand because he seemed intent on keeping the towel covering its head.

He should have been arrested for child endangerment

Asshole!

22. It's against the law...
... to molest a child. It is not against the law to be a crappy parent. If it were, a third of our country would be behing bars.

....you get put behind bars for not paying child support...guess as long as you're a PAYING crappy parent then it doesnt' matter if you abuse them by *allowing* them to be molested. :wtf:

christ what a debacle of a human being. recipe for disaster: fundy christianity, repressed homosexuality, self loathing, & enabling sycophants.

in a way his sexuality reminds me of priests; repression & celibacy are NOT HEALTHY. when it comes out, it comes out twisted.

18. What?
So you're saying all priests = Michael Jackson?

Why don't you say that all democrats = communists? Why? Because not all democrats are communist. You make it sound like all priests are pedophiles.

Does anyone know what the precentage of suspected or accused pedophilic (is that a word?)priests there are among the priesthood?

21. he has a point.....................
The priests belong to an orginazation. The organization is responsible for all there wrongdoing because they instituted the rules, sort of like saddams thugs and nazis, are all nazis bad? not all killed a hebrew, are all dictators bad? not all have slaugtered millions, are all commies bad? not all are responsible for an ideology responsible for a 100 million deaths.

14. This isn't all that bad...
Bush went over to Britian to try and put a good face on things. Show some resolve and show that our allies are behind us.

The Michael Jackson story will be a distraction from that.

Hell, the mainstream media won't show the protests anyway, so we don't have to worry about MJ distracting people from that.

26. I could be wrong, but when this is over we will be hearing "shakedown"
there are just some things about this story that don't add up. I guess it is because we haven't been told the full story. But if the only story is what FOX is putting out there...this sounds like a MJ shakedown to me. "...the health condition of the boy involved is still in jeopardy." ???What does that mean...the boy was a terminal cancer case...are they trying to blame MJ for that? It was only after his schoolmates taunted him about MJ that the boy complained...did he complain because of "peer pressure?"

Here's the relevant quote from FOX News

"At some point last spring, the boy's schoolmates — apparently aware of his relationship with Jackson — began taunting him in public. In one case, an incident of harassment is said to have occurred at a gas station, prompting the boy’s mother to seek legal advice. The lawyer she met with advised sending the boy to a psychologist. According to my source, the psychologist had enough concerns to report his conversation to the police.

That would jibe with the idea proposed by the police and others that the family is not seeking civil damages at this time or anticipating a cash settlement similar to the one that happened 10 years ago.

Sadly, according to my source, the health condition of the boy involved is still in jeopardy — a situation that should add to the melodrama of an already shocking and headline-making story."
