Michael Jackson will turn himself in Thursday
BY JERRY CORNFIELD AND TRACY CONNOR
New York Daily News

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - (KRT) - Michael Jackson is preparing to trade in the Moonwalk for a perp walk Thursday - and surrender on charges that he repeatedly molested a young boy.

His accuser is a 12-year-old boy who says the pop star lured him to his Neverland Ranch and plied him with wine before abusing him, according to several reports.

Those details point to a brave cancer survivor who was befriended by Jackson while he was ill - and who has spoken to a therapist, a lawyer and police about the singer.

That boy's family also has confided in friends several weeks ago that Jackson gave the youngster wine to drink during Neverland sleepovers, a source told the Daily News.

1. oh, man....I think the local (LA) news has done stories on this kid...
Specifically, I think they interviewed him earlier this year--somebody the Jackson spokesman trotted out to shore up his image after that disastrous documentary aired. That's assuming, of course, that Jackson hasn't had multiple 12-year-old boys who are cancer survivors visit his ranch...

God, if he really did molest this kid--it's bad enough to prey on a child, but there's gotta be a special place in hell reserved for preying on a child cancer survivor. :-(

3. At best, Michael is an idiot...at worst, he's a pedophile!
But, let him be tried in a court of law...and, NOT in the media or at DU.

Thank you.

6. cancer boy is attractive?
How about, oh we have all these medical bills,
How about, let's shake down the freak with all the $$$

I don't trust this, even if he is a freak, what kind of
people let their kids stay with a man they think is a pedo?

something doesn't add up here.

8. No offense jchild but this issue is the least of our concerns.
I only hope that if the allegations are true that Jackson gets himself some help.

9. When Bush was in Berlin, it was "Michael and the dangling baby"
Bush was getting his ass protested there, too. Michael made for a convenient sideshow.

I'm ignoring this story w/the exception of this commentary.

16. Isn't it wonderful that some people believe that the MJ story is just...
...as important as American kids being killed and wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq? Marvelous. I bet those kids would really appreciate that.

Here's the bottomline, jchild...and I don't care if you like it or not...until, or if, MJ goes to trial, this is a NON--FRICKIN-STORY. Period.

Get over yourself.

18. Ya know, I am glad I have you around to tell me what is news and what isnt
Your brain may not be capable of processing more than one story at a time, but mine is.

Evidently it has some sort of significance to you, seeing as how ANGRY any mention of it makes you. YOu don't like the story, don't fucking click on the thread. How difficult is THAT for you to process???

20. But isn't it ironic that they take time to chime in on this...
when their whole argument (and your's) is that it isn't news and is diverting attention from the "real" issues.

Irony at its best. :-)

22. No its not irony, when you voice an opinion in an attempt
to make someone aware of something, it is aggravating to see this get more replies than chinesse agression or deaths in georgia

25. Democracy=different opinions and ability to express opinions on whatever
matter concerns whomever wishes to voice that opinion.

Sad that you don't subscribe to that point of view.

12. Some parents are idiots
Everyone heard about Jackson's last accusation. What parent in their right damn mind would EVER let him near their kids? Greedy morons who value the almighty dollar more than they do their own children.

Asshole parents...

13. Fox News crossed this 'cancer' line first
that information never should have been released and Roger Friedman, the weasely motherfu**er who is the source of it, should be fired (friedman@foxnews.com). By providing that info, the "last wish", and the fact that schoolkids were making fun of him after finding out (ie. by watching the Bashir documentary), he might as well posted the name of a 12-year-old alleged rape victim. Diane Dimond has been really steamed on TV shows tonight because she held that info, and knowing how publically identifiable this person is (in full name all over the web), they had to tread real lightly in releasing details.

14. I agree - Friedman shouldn't have leaked this
Took me 30 seconds to find the story with the child's picture and full name on the Los Angeles ABC station's website.

Shame on him. :-(

17. Sure, lets continue to kick a man while hes down. It's not our place to..
judge, he is what he is and none of us know, this is not news, not important, the parents should have known better (avoid the histronics) I personally dont know and dont care, there are more pressing issues to the world, this changes nothing, regardless of us following it or ignoring it, nothing is ameliorated in the world.

21. Oh, gross. Sorry, but he needs kicking.
He's not "down." He's a multigazillionaire who would've had his ass in jail long since if he weren't the "King of Pop." It's not like these accusations are coming completely out of the blue, you know? What he *admittedly* does with kids--his own and others'---is wildly inappropriate at best. Do you really think that with all this smoke there's no fire? Sorry, but the man is monstrously self-absorbed and scarily out of touch with reality. I have no doubt that he's crossed the line with the kids that he looooves so much.

And just because there are crimes on a far greater scale going on right now--which no one here is arguing--doesn't mean that child molestation is O.K. It *does* affect at least some people, if admittedly not nearly as many as those being affected by the Iraq debacle: how about those poor kids living in his house? Yeah, the timing is weird, but we knew it was going to happen sooner or later. It just sucks that the resulting media frenzy will feed his martyr complex; but them's the times we live in.

23. He needs help mre than anything
He isnt a humbert hymbert in my opinion i believe he is suffering some type of mental disorder and needs help. his money prevented him from getting it of course, and he is terrible and managing his own image. But i dont think he would have said he sleeps with children if it was sexual, although im am always looking to dissent, i dont like to think the worse of someone for doing something abberant. In all honesty he just doesnt want to progress in age. Im not an apologist but not a judge either

26. I think he is scary looking.
He looks like the Joker. If I were 12 years old and he got too close I would run screaming for the exits (and I'm gay, for gods sake)

I can't believe this is the same handsome kid who graced the cover of the album, "Off the Wall."

When success becomes excess the results are always fatal. The buzz in the music biz is that he's still taking a lot of drugs and it's driven him mad.

24. guess who agrees with you?
That's right, Mr. Reasonable himself, Bill O'Liary.

He was all over this story today, with his usual superman-sized leaps from "he's accused" to "he's guilty" to "why isn't he already in prison" to "the damn celebrity {read liberal} press protecting" him is the only thing keeping out of that prison cell he so richly deserves.

I say let him have his day in court before we damn him to hell.

In any case, I think his problems stem from being abused himself as a kid, at the very least emotionally, which makes me hestitent to make any snap judgements here.
