U.S. Commerce Secretary calls free-trade protestors ``dead wrong''

U.S. Commerce Secretary Don Evans told the Americas Business Forum on Wednesday that free-trade protesters' arguments may be ''seductive'' but are ``dead wrong.''

'It is protesters' misguided attempt to subvert liberalized trade that represents the true threat to future prosperity for those living in poverty,'' Evans told a luncheon crowd on the final day of the forum at the Hyatt Regency.

''It's their opposition that is likely to widen the gap between the haves and have-nots,'' he added. (snip) (snip/...)

What has their precious free-trade done to help anyone in poverty? The only people it benefits are those most responsible for its implementation in the first place. Job loss in industrialized countries to create even more cheap 3rd world slave labor. Yeah, really great. That's real free trade? These people have no souls.
