President Arroyo on Thursday ordered the Foreign Affairs and Justice departments to assist a Filipino maid who was reported gang raped in Kuwait.


"I have the deepest sympathy for her and we are united with all overseas Filipinos in condemning this incident," the President said.


"I want regular reports on the progress of this case including all forms of assistance rendered to the victim," Arroyo said.


Foreign Affairs Secretary Blas Ople summoned Wednesday the Kuwaiti consul general and asked him to convey to the Kuwaiti government the Philippine government's appeal that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice
