Bush Hints That US might not reduce troops in Iraq
Sorry if this is a dupe, I didn't see it mentioned all day

NYTimes.com
<snip>
LONDON, Nov. 20 — President Bush said today that he was open to rethinking the Pentagon's plan to reduce the size of the United States military force in Iraq next year.

Asked at a news conference with Prime Minister Tony Blair how it was possible for the United States and Britain to start bringing troops home next year when the security situation in Iraq is so unsettled, Mr. Bush challenged the premise of the question and said he would rely on his military commanders to judge how many troops were needed to deal with conditions on the ground.

"I said that we're going to bring our troops home starting next year?" Mr. Bush replied, in a tone that conveyed that he was committing himself to no such thing.

That lying SOB, no wonder he wants a draft....:grr:

On the plus side, this might be good news for us if Chimpy can't keep his promises about bringing home the troops and starting a draft right before the election.

1. Ummm...alright, this guy's just nuts.
We're currently reducing our troops....but we're going to stop/increase, and then in June we're pulling out. What the HELL kind of plan is that?

2. Starting a draft just before an election is political suicide.
Can't see that happening

8. The way things are unraveling around the entire ME, he won't be able
to wait. He's either gotta cut and run now or he's gotta do something that's gonna fry his ass politically--like make the troops that are there stay or call up more reserves and then half of them say "Hell no I won't go". It's coming to that faster than I'd hoped.

6. Unless the elections are postponed for "national security reasons"
Not to sound too crazy, but that's always been a "way out" for the powers that be, all those scary Executive Orders and all.

And this is the kind of over-reached cartel of crazies that might feel they have to resort to that level of engagement in order to fulfill their mission - holy, strategic, financial, or whatever.

3. how would he know?
He either doesn't know, or forgot, or is misspeaking, or is lying. He is the last guy to take seriously.

His words have no meaning. He's the guy that said "we found the WMD" and "the sailors put up the banner."

4. I never take him seriously
I just find that "I said we where taking the troops out in june?" is the statement that prove, in my mind, that chimpy really is the dumbest man on the planet

9. I take him seriously for one reason:
He's a certified madman with his finger on the nuke button--and he's just crazy enough to do it. KABOOM!!!

7. Desperation. Grasping at straws. He knows he's f*ck'n toast. Wonder
how long it will be before Poppy and Barfbag Barbara are on Larry King whining about their poor boy and saying how wonderful that f*ck'n D-Bag Stepford Wife of his is...
