Family of slain Marine troubled by probe (Malysia Sun)
The family of a U.S. Marine killed last year in Iraq has to cope with the pain of knowing that the young lance corporal's death may have sparked a massacre.

Miguel Terrazas was a member of the unit now under investigation for alleged unprovoked killing of civilians in Haditha in November. He died when a bomb exploded.

I have no idea what happened afterward. I just know about the death of my son, Martin Terrazas told the Houston Chronicle after meeting with representatives of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. I don't know anything that could help them.

The Terrazas family has a tradition of military service, especially in the Marines, and family members are not ready to pass judgment on Miguel's unit, the newspaper said. Martin Terrazas said that his son told him insurgents used women and children as shields.

1. Oh no.
I was afraid of this.

My heart goes out to her and her family.

3. Some of us warned that the insurgents would use women and children. . .
as shields before the IraqAttaq was launched. That they do should be no cause for wonder for anyone familiar with either insurgencies or the recent history of that land. That our soldiers should be surprised, or worse lash out in blind anger, speaks more to their leadership than their humanity, though ultimately their humanity is most in question and most at risk.

4. The worse thing that could happen just got worse.
My heart goes out to this family.

I was never that afraid of dying.

But the thought of my dear Mother getting the news just terrified me.
