BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Bombs struck a busy outdoor market and a police patrol
in a mostly Shiite area of Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least 19 people
and wounding more than 40, police said.

The first explosion targeted a police patrol in the New Baghdad area
in eastern Baghdad, killing two policemen and four civilians and wounding
11 people, police Lt. Ali Abbas said.

Thirteen people were killed and 39 wounded when the bomb detonated at the
entrance of the market, severely damaging several shops, police Col. Ahmed Abod
said.

Also Thursday, Iraq's parliament approved new ministers of defense, interior and
national security, ending a three-week stalemate among Iraq's religious and ethnic
groups over the crucial posts.

2. Now, Now Citizen. Chin up!
This will help the Stock Market, and your chocolate rations will increase this month.

And it really won't disrupt the summer re-runs much, so you still have plenty of time to get your shopping done to prepare for the next season of "American Idol."

Plus, the insurgency will now be in it's last, last, last, LAST, really-we're-serious-this-time, double no-take-backs, throes now.

The Troops will be home by August 15th.

Just in time for a cool, crisp fall Invasion of Iran, where we will rinse, and repeat all over again.

Assuming we don't just get lazy and use Nukes, and THEN have a draft and send in our boys to crunch their boots on some newly minted Green Glass.

Plus, we need this to get Chimp's numbers UP, so that it won't look so weird when they steal another election this November.

Heil Fuhrer! Heil Bush! USA! USA! USA!

Meanwhile in reality......

The Spiral Into Hell and Fascism continues.

Eyes on the Telescreens, now.

That's a Good Citizen.

Wil this insanity EVER end?

3. Just more "last throes" of the "insurgency"
Nothing to see here. Move along.

By the way, have you seen the "Brangelina" baby photos? Very important that all good Americans keep up with all the real news of the day.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A string of bombs that killed at least 31 people in Baghdad on Thursday underlined warnings by U.S. and Iraqi officials that violence will not cease with the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the al Qaeda leader in Iraq.

In the deadliest blast, a roadside bomb in a crowded market in eastern New Baghdad district killed 13 people and wounded 28, police said.

One car bomb exploded in the northwestern Shi'ite district of Kadhimiya, killing seven people and wounding 17 others, while a second car bomb in the east of the capital killed six people and wounded 13 others, police said.

A third car bomb killed five people and wounded 10 in the mostly Shi'ite district of Shaab, east of the Tigris.
