Cheney Responds to Eavesdropping Rules (today)
June 8, 2006

WASHINGTON (AP) -

Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday told the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman that he is willing to work with Congress on new rules governing the White House's eavesdropping program.

But Cheney stopped short of promising any action as he responded to a terse letter from Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., the day before.

Cheney said a final decision on any bill would be up to the president.

4. Ball's back in Specter's court...let's see how long till he backs down...
This is nothing more than an attempt to run out the clock on Specter's threat. Specter, as usual, will back down now that he's made a protest in writing. Nothing will get done...particularly when that pro-fascist Mormon fuck'r, Hatch, is sitting on the Judiciary Comittee.

I hate Hatch with a passion. Almost as strongly as I feel about that scumbag, Pat Roberts. Both are TRAITORS to our newly extinct democratic system.

6. So will that forgive the current and previous lawbreaking?
Boy, if it does then that should be a precedent across the board. Get a DUI? Run for congress and change the law ex-post-facto.
