In a separate attack, a DHL airliner landed at Baghdad International Airport with one of its engines on fire after it was hit by a surface-to-air missile, according to Coalition Provisional Authority sources.

The sources said the cargo aircraft landed safely.

2. Plane lands safely despite missile attack - NOT CNN link

Baghdad - A civilian aircraft approaching Baghdad International Airport was hit by a missile on Saturday but landed safely with no reported casualties, an official at the airport said.

A United States military spokesperson confirmed that a civilian plane had "declared an in-flight emergency". He said more details would be released later.

Missiles have been fired several times at planes approaching the airport, but Saturday's incident was the first time a fixed-wing aircraft had been hit.
