Final Report Is In On The Death Of A Lufkin Soldier
http://www.ktre.com/Global/story.asp?S=1536743&nav=2FH5JHk4

The military says that a Lufkin man is one of at least 17 American soldiers who have taken their own lives in Iraq, and Joseph Suell's wife, Rebecca, wants answers about his death.

She says it's clear that her husband, who was promoted to Sergeant after his death, was in crisis the day he died. Rebecca Suell says she begged her husband's commanding officer to let him come home for Christmas. The officer told her they were doing everything they could.
<snip>
That's all that's available at this moment.

Sad state of affairs.

1.  That poor man
and his wife and families. I don't have the words.

Your post reminds me of what I saw on the ticker today
but have not yet seen on-line anywhere:

Soldier with rare brain disease demoted and sent
home and something about his mother trying to get his
money back.

I don't know if they kicked him out, if he gets a pension
and medical care or what.

2. Closer and closer
The name rings vaguely familiar, sadly enough. I think I know the family from some old Nacogdoches ties. I will have to make some calls and express my condolences. There are a fairly large number of people from East Texas in Iraq. I wish them well, and will hopefor a speedy and safe return. I wish he had the opportunity.
