In theory, I am against the death penalty. In theory, I'm also a kind, charitable person.
I guess what I am saying is, I hope that someday we live in a society that does not have the death penalty. In the meantime, I don't mind seeing this fucker whacked.

There's a downer to start the day on. Why do people still subscribe to the notion that killing people for killing others is somehow just?

13. I'm opposed to the death penalty in most cases... |
|
With the EXCEPTION of three:
1) Mass Murder;
2) Aggravated murder--i.e. murder with rape, torture, etc. also involved;
3) Acts of terrorism.
And Muhammad & Malvo's crime fit two of them. Muhammad deserved just what Tim MacVeigh got, IMO. x(

A life of solitary confinment would give the sick bastard time to reflect on the lives he has destroyed. Death is too quick and kind for truly evil people like this punk.

... you assume that he has remorse, or would develop it sometime in the future. I don't.
I'm not a fan of the death penalty, but in cases where there is as little doubt as there could possibly be that the person is guilty, and the crime is particularly heinous, I have no problem with it.
And according to your assessment, it's the humane thing to do :)

Some murderers think they have a good reason, also.
Some probably take pleasure in it.

17. I'm opposed to the death penalty in all cases,including this one, but |

I won't be shedding many tears for him when they do kill him. That's pretty much how I felt about McVeigh, too, although in his case I wondered if he was affected at all by Gulf War syndrome and had been exposed to any chemicals or anything when he was over there.
I do hope that they don't execute the kid in the sniper case and give him life instead. I feel strongly that although he is responsible for his actions and should be punished, he also was manipulated in a cruel manner by Muhammad, in a way that is like brainwashing. I don't know what the kid's IQ is, but if he's in the lower-functioning range, I might even support a lesser charge if they can prove a diminished capacity.
