Bush Pardons Talkative Thanksgiving Turkey

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Stars the turkey may have pushed his luck by gobbling throughout a Rose Garden ceremony on Monday but President Bush just the same gave him a presidential pardon from being served for Thanksgiving dinner.

In a contest to name the national Thanksgiving turkey, conducted on the White House Web site, Stars, and the alternate national bird, Stripes, won out over Pumpkin and Cranberry. ``It was a neck-to-neck race,'' said Bush.

Other names that gained votes were Hope and Glory, Harvest and Bounty, Plymouth and Mayflower, and Lewis and Clark.

``The rule book states that an alternate turkey is chosen in case the national Thanksgiving turkey cannot fulfill his role in this ceremony. It's kind of like being the vice president,'' Bush said.

8. ....and if your Carla Fayn Tucker your words are mimicked
and laughed at by junior, "but I don't want a die" this type of sick humor can bring Karl Rove to his knees with un-stoppable laughter.

22. Hopefully just you.
As a veggie animal lover I can honestly say this is the only thing chimp has ever done that I agree with. He is only doing this cause every president has in my lifetime (elected or not). We all know he really has'nt a compassionate or loving bone in his body and I often wonder if he and his cabal even have souls. I wish all living beings on this planet could be pardoned from the destruction of our regime and fear the worst may still be in store.

9. picking who lives and who dies is an important function for bush.
he has compassion for a turkey, but mocked those he could saved. he sends our kids to die but uses his family's influence to avoid dying in war himself, and then doesn't complete his duties and skips out early, avoiding medical exams for drug testing, grounded and unable to fly. he endangers our kids by taunting "bring 'em on!" but saves a damned mouthy turkey. bush puts the "compassionate" in "compassionate conservatism." his interest in saving the unborn is greater than saving their mothers... he makes all the wrong choices when it comes to living, breathing human beings, but shows compassion for a turkey. he'd rather rush to unjust war and kill thousands of people in collateral damage and leave a country ravaged with depleted uranium waste after 15,000,000 people have marched in the streets trying to stop him, but he will save a damned turkey. this his "compassion."

happy turkey day, bush. chew slowly and carefully, now. we know that if cheney was in charge we'd be in syria right now, the draft would already be re-instated, and both those turkeys would be dead, dead, dead.

12. He let it go without harming a feather on its head????
I guess that turkey's name must have been Osama.

He'll kill a duck instead and convince the country that the duck and turkey were in cahoots.

13. Well, that makes three living beings spared from death...
...by the Texecutioner.

Tell me, though -- did he first adopt a high-pitched voice and mock the turkey: "Please don't eat me!" - ?

...he pardoned fellow serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, I guess on the theory that if somebody can baffle 'em with that much B.S. they deserve a pardon.

19. I seriously thought I was gonna get sick when I saw this on the news
This is the worst kind of joke, done in the worst taste possible, that Bush could ever do.

He bombs thousands of people in Iraq, killing untold women and children, blowing their limbs from them, orphaning countless children.

He sends hundreds of innocent American soldiers to their violent and gruesome deaths in Iraq.

Yet as a publicity stunt he pardons the turkey.

He needs to have that turkey shoved down his throat until he quits breathing.

I am so appalled by this that I am almost speechless. Bush can drink my vomit.
