AP: Student accused of threatening Bush released
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060719/LOCAL/60719038

HAMMOND, Ind. — A Purdue University graduate student accused of making online threats to President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and others was released on $100,000 bond after his father vouched for him in federal court.

At an April hearing, U.S. District Magistrate Andrew Rodovich said Vikram Buddhi, 35, was a flight risk and refused to release him. But Buddhi’s father — B. K. Subbarao, a captain in the Navy in India and an attorney — said today that his son comes from an honorable family that would not harbor a fugitive.

... Prosecutors objected to Buddhi’s release, saying they discovered text files on his computer indicating that he had hated the Bush administration.

... An 11-count federal indictment alleges that Buddhi hijacked online identities of other Purdue students to post messages on Internet chat rooms in December. The messages justified the murder of Bush and Cheney and the rape of their wives, the indictment said. He also made threats against Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and sensitive American infrastructure, the government says.

1. Memo to U.S. District Magistrate Andrew Rodovich:

If you're REALLY interested in investigating people who are advocating violence against US elected officials, Supreme Court justices, newspaper organizations, and various and sundry United States citizens, you might want to check out Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh (complete list available upon request).

No need to thank me for the tip - just doin' my bit as a concerned citizen.

P.S. I have no idea what financial resources are at your immediate disposal, but if you're planning on rounding up everyone who hates the Bush Administration, you're probably going to need a MUCH BIGGER STAFF. Just sayin'.

13. Repent, Harlequin! Said the Tick-Tock Man
Complete with 24 hour a day monitoring through our financial transactions, phone/cell calls and internet usage. They know we eat, what we like to drink and where we get our gas. We'll get tagged if we deviate too much from our established patterns.

6. I'd like to know specifically what he said
and to warn folks here to watch what you say.. someone here wrote about wanting Ann Coulter's head on a pike and offering money, of course we assume they are joking but from what I've seen of cops and courts they have no sense of humor..

This is getting into some scary territory, the title "Bush Protester.." alone is frightening, considering what they did to a "protester"..

So now it's a CRIME to hate a Serial Murderer like Bush? What if we hate Attila the Hun or Hitler.. will hating McCarthy be a CRIME some day?

Where the hell did AMERICA go?
