Hillary to Spend Thanksgiving in Iraq
Mods this is just slightly over 12 hours old. The headline was the best I could find, okay it is Newsmax.

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2003/11/25/224236.shtml

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton may have missed the New Hampshire presidential primary filing deadline, :eyes: but that hasn't stopped her from rehearsing for the role of Commander-in-Chief.

Later this week, while President Bush is carving the Thanksgiving turkey at the White House, Sen. Clinton will be visiting the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The former first lady will be traveling to the region with Sen. Jack Reed, a Rhode Island Democrat who, like herself, has been critical of the Bush administration's handling of post-war Iraq.

"This administration is run by people who have been obsessed with Saddam Hussein for more than a decade," Clinton complained. "And the fact that they could have been so poorly informed and prepared raises a lot of serious questions about the decisions they are making now."

1. careful, Iraqis
She might buy a house there and run for Senator!

Carpetbagger-bashing aside, I think this is a great thing she's doing. Certainly part of her reasons are PR, but at least she's willing to take the risk to go over there and spend some time with the people doing the fighting, unlike some other people I could mention.

14. How so Theodore?
Senator Clinton is certainly more popular with troops than Smirky, Rummy or Wolfie?

And the way the Iraqis were after Wolfie when he was there, it would seem he didn't have a friend in the entire country.

Say hi to Alvin for me.

Wouldn't it be a shame if a terrorist attackk happened to hit Billery's hotel in her beloved Bagdad, home of her best friend Sodom Hussein! ... maybe than she'd LEARN that our troops are there fighting on the front lines aganist Usama Ben Laden!

But she's probably going to meet wiht Usama personally while she's their, just to give him "aide and confort" just like her best friend Jane Fonda!!

Please Jesus don't let this traitorous "womyn" run for president!

The troops see someone on there side, in a position of authority, that is getting the troops killed and doesn't care about it as it advances their agenda.

This person is FRAGGED, usually, a hand grenade magically appears under the the cot of the person despised by the troops.

Best Regards

Sergio

If I said what I want to say about this, my post would be removed and I would be banned for life.

So ... I will just say that Hillary is a snake and there is no one that I know in the military that will be glad to see her. Anywhere. Ever.

I am sure Hillary is going to really learn a lot about the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan by spending a day or two in each country. A little knowledge can be very dangerous.

COULD WE ALERT ALL THE FREEPERS IN THOSE REGIONS TO PERHAPS PLAN SOME AT LEAST COVERT IF NOT ALL THE POSSIBLE OVERT RESPONSES?

I think it would be soooooooooooooooooooooooo

wonderful if she were FREEPED UNROYALLY by our troops in those regions.

I'm reminded of photos of prisoners of war in the Hanoi Hilton.

. . . I'm sure creative signs could be devised.

For Clinton, the trip is also a chance to bring attention to one of her long-time public causes: the advancement of women in the political systems of other nations.

If she wants to be out front, let her walk point.

It would be tragic if she were kidnapped by Al Queda and held for the ransom of captured terrorists.

If she was "accidentally" shelled by the Taliban /Al Quada and killed. What would Pres. Bush's response be?

...and do WHAT with her?

Airdrop her to the Army? The joy of pushing her out the back of a perfectly good airplane (unfortunately with a parachute) would be the only benefit of having her.

This article puts him at the White House. I doubt it. I'll bet they're having turkey fajitas at the ranch.

21. There are risks to traveling, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I hope both senators have a very safe trip and get some serious face time with the troops. God knows the lot of them probably need to vent in a big way.

But I do worry about something going wrong. I'm fighting off grim memories about Ron Brown, Mel Carnahan, and Paul Wellstone.

Godspeed, Hillary and Jack!
