DNA Confirms Lindbergh Fathered 3 German Children
Lucky Lindy!

FRANKFURT, Germany - A DNA test has proven that U.S. aviator Charles Lindbergh fathered the three children of a German hat maker, a spokesman for the siblings said today.

The children, Dyrk and David Hesshaimer and their sister, Astrid Bouteuil, have no plans to stake a claim as legal heirs. But they said they wanted to verify the relationship before going ahead with plans to publish a book on their mother's long-running secret relationship with the married pilot, said a spokesman, lawyer Anton Schwenk.

A TV documentary on the family is scheduled for release in Germany next year.

No one was immediately available for comment at the Lindbergh Foundation in Anoka, Minn., which was closed for the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Schwenk said after receiving the results of the test from the Munich-based LMU Institute, the three Germans informed their half-siblings in the United States, some of whom they met last month. They agreed to issue only a statement, rather than hold a news conference, "because that is the style of the American Lindbergh family," he added.

1. My god..
.. they're NOT going to stake a claim? No trials? No unvinding of Charles Lindberghs casual sex life? No accusations that the children were the ones who kidnapped the Lindbergh baby?

Irony might have been used :D

7. Not to criticize your post, but Lindy was a Nazi sympathizer
Here is a review about a book by Max Wallace on Henry Ford and Lucky Lindy, and their anti-Semitism and strong attraction to Hitler. The name of the book is: The American Axis: Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh, and the Rise of the Third Reich:

Review: How Ford, Lindbergh sided with the Fuhrer

By Tom Blackburn, Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
Sunday, November 16, 2003

The specifications against Ford start with his notorious anti-Semitism. His nasty, ghost-written The International Jew was one of Hitler's favorite books. Hitler displayed a photo of Ford in his office.

There's more. Wallace weighs the evidence that Ford contributed money to the young Nazi Party, although he doesn't prove the charge. Breaking new ground, he found a War Department document in the national archives citing Ford's longtime personal secretary as a German spy in 1918. The government seems to have lost interest, so Wallace can't say if the aide worked for Germany after the Kaiser abdicated, but his sympathies were clear.

The case against Lindbergh is well known. He swallowed inflated claims about Nazi air power, and concluded two things: 1) England and France couldn't beat Germany, so he favored appeasing Hitler, and 2) Germany represented the last, best hope for the white race against the world, so he tried to keep the United States out of the war. He became the voice of the America First movement, which eventually convinced itself so strongly of President Roosevelt's bad intentions it flirted with German agents who were eager to keep the U.S. out.

Lindbergh and Ford were consumed by racialist theory that was conventional wisdom early in the last century. It echoes through the prose of Winston Churchill, to name a non-perfidious believer. After Hitler, sensible people don't talk like that, but Ford and Lindbergh were depressingly part of their generation in putting stock in claptrap.

9. Back then, before the war, it wasn't all that unusual
for Americans to side with Germany. My mother was in high school in the late 30s and remembered classmates going to NY to bund meetings. Once we got into the war it was a different matter. Even for Lindbergh. He approached FDR about contributing to the war effort, but was rebuffed. He did get around him and managed to fly missions, though, unofficially.

11. "the international Jew"
From an excerpt of Max Wallace's book, quoting Henry Ford:

"International financiers are behind all wars... they are what is called the international Jew: German Jews, French Jews, English Jews, American Jews... the Jew is a threat."

Let's not forget the role that Hearst also played in advancing fascism in America.

10. there might be [at least] two more
The three were the first to claim Lindbergh as their father; two cousins of said group started to make the same claim in August. Their DNA test is still pendng.
