More U.S. Troops Die in November Than in Any Other Month Since Iraq Invasion
By Slobodan Lekic Associated Press Writer
Published: Nov 29, 2003

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - At least 75 U.S. soldiers have died so far in Iraq in November, making it the deadliest month for American troops since the U.S.-led invasion began on March 20, U.S. military statistics show.

A total of 436 U.S. soldiers have died since the start of the war, according to the Pentagon and the latest casualty figures released by the U.S. military in Baghdad. They include 299 soldiers killed in combat, while the others died from other causes such as accidents.

Seventy-five soldiers from other allied nations - including 52 from Britain and 17 from Italy - also have died, bringing the total number of coalition deaths since the war started to more than 500.

U.S.-led occupation authorities in Baghdad say they do not have a number for Iraqi deaths. A survey by The Associated Press counted at least 3,240 civilians killed during the invasion, which lasted more than a month. The total number is believed to be much higher.

4. The total dead in Iraq has now exceeded the first nine years of U.S....
...involvement in Vietnam. By the end of 1964, the U.S. had suffered 401 deaths in Vietnam:

6. How many injuries
have occurred? I guess they don't count the victims who were injured first then died later..that's another set of numbers.

7. With the severity of the wounds being suffered, that's definitely a...
...number they don't want ANYONE to know. That would be a very difficult number to track considering the fact that the wounded are spread out over quite a few hospitals.

If it weren't for the helmets and body armor most of the U.S. troops are wearing, the number of those killed instantly could be much higher.

5. More than the total Vietnam dead from 1956-1964
1956-1960: 9
1961: 16
1962: 52
1963: 118
1964: 206

In '65, the number of dead jumped up to 1,863. (At the current rate in Iraq, we are on track for about 1,200 dead in the next year.) From '66 on, it went up a lot every year, with 1968 being the peak year (16,592 dead). From '69 until '75, the rate of death dropped at a similar rate as it had risen in the early years, down to 161 in '75. In 1978, there was a spike of 447 deaths.

3. THE SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST
Before their war was won = 138. After their mission accomplished = 303 more, Total young land of the free and home of the brave heroes just following orders = 441 (not counting dying among 2,444 wounded.). Iraqi men, women, and children evil doers massacred = 9,479. Those seeking vengeance for sake of family and invaded homeland honor = most. Years for Viet Cong to come together = several. Time for Iraqi resistance to build = damned near immediate. Have a nice day.:)
