Bush asks Americans To "Volunteer" to help troops....
wow... I thought that was what the government was supposed to do. How about this one...

Veterans ask Government to "volunteer" more money.

CRAWFORD, Texas - President Bush having surprised the nation with his Thanksgiving trip to Baghdad, asked Americans on Saturday to volunteer to help military personnel and their families

3. How many bottles of drinking water could AF1 have held
instead of one useless Chicken-Hawk-in-Chief?

How many VA clinic visits could have been funded by the tax $$ spent on PR charade junkets?

How much family support could be afforded if Halliburton didn't get to write its own checks on the US Treasury?

7. National Defense is a government responsibility as is caring for the
military. It's not Medicare the wingnuts want to do away with...it's our total government. All they want to support are 'storm troopers' and corporate thugs.

8. That's the thing about rethugs
they claim to "love America", yet they don't want to spend a dime of their money on the country they pretend to "love"...except during a war, when the country lovin' bedwetters want to stay home, and claim proudly that they "pay their taxes" to support the military. During all of this, these country lovin' bedwetters collect guns to "protect" themselves against the country and military they swore alligence to! (As if any private arsenal stands a seconds chance against the war machine we've made!)

Talk about dysfunctional!!

9. More from the article:
Meanwhile in Baghdad, some Iraqis complained Bush didn't take the opportunity to see firsthand how dire their situation is and were offended he would use their country as a stage for what some saw as an electoral gambit.

White House advisers denied any political motive for the trip. They signaled they were not worried that the public would buy criticism of a president who braved personal risk to himself to visit lonely U.S. troops.

"Let the chips fall where they may," Bush's national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites), told reporters. "But for the American people, I don't care what your party, they know that the president of the United States, as commander in chief, going to see these troops is an important step." (snip)

Yeah right. It's the most "risk" Bubble boy has taken since getting behind the wheel during his drinking days!

12. LBN Rules
The Rules of the Latest Breaking News Forum require that the poster use the exact title of the linked-to article in their subject line. In this case, the subject line should read "Bush Asks U.S. to Help Military Personnel."

However, since it's very possible that Yahoo! has since changed its headline since this thread was first posted, we'll leave it open.

Thanks!

13. He is trying to get the American public invested in his conflict much
in the same way that people were invested during WWI and WWII.
I have seen many things that were made during that period of time
which encouraged people to save in Hitler Pig banks, posters and
other items which encouraged support of the conflict. If people are invested in the conflict they are invested in him to some degree.

14. yes, the Naked Emperor is under the delusion
that the people will unite behind his war the way they did during WWII, that somehow taking over Iraq is as electrifying, as unifying as the cause of fighting Nazis.

Hello, George--you ARE the Nazis.

And we are daily more and more united in cutting you off like a nasty cancerous growth.
