US to Release 140 Detainees From Guantanamo: Report

A US military official told Time Magazine that the detainees slated for release are "the easiest 20 percent" of the estimated 660 people kept at Guantanamo Bay, which the United States has leased from Cuba since 1903.

US officials said that some of the detainees had been captured by Afghan warlords and sold for the bounty offered by Washington for al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters.

"Many would not have been detained under the normal rules of engagement," the source told the weekly.

"We're dealing with some very, very dangerous people, but the pendulum is swinging too far in the wrong direction."

Hell, they have Muslims locked up all over the U.S. for cripes sake. So, they are going to let a few out of Guantanamo Bay - big friggin deal eh?

2. I certainly hope

the elderly men and the children will be among those released. But, then again, you have to wonder about the young ones. If they weren't terrorists then, perhaps they will want revenge now.

5. Miami Herald says that one of the young boys is being released, but

the others, ages 13 to 15, are still being held. Wonder how many law suits will come from this group being released.

They would not have room for all of them. Perhaps they can get some more "secret" info from the new detainees they will be bringing in?
