2. Yes, it was a great moment
He started his ususal sputtering "well, you know this is hardball",
or words to that effect. Jeesh, if he would just let a person answer
a question before he starts blathering, it would be nice. Now,
if Mr. Bush were being interviewed, they would have to change the
name of the show to Softball, for one night anyway. Another good
name for his show could be Spitball because Matthews always does it
when he gets excited. He's sooo disgusting.

Cheers to the Harvard kids.

3. Matthews earned it!!...He should be ashamed of destroying the US to
promote and put into place one of the worst leaders in the entire
world.

Matthews has been one of the top catalysts for creating the
Fascist Gov't we live in today!!!!

Our forefathers would have tarred and feathered him by now!!!

So ......Way to go Harvard!!!!

WHOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

5. there's nothing like talking about class
to a bunch of rich kids, especially when the speaker's rich too. I like Dean, he was definitely on fire tonite on Hardball. What bothered me most, playing devil's advocate here, was the forum. The whole idea of Dean hanging around Harvard talking about class with a bunch of rich spoiled kids was too much for me. It would have been too much to bear were it not for the fact that he was so engaging and on point - in particular on foreign policy.

I know the students at Harvard and Yale fancy themselves as the shit, but their sense of entitlement - and their adoption of class stuggle as an issue-du-jour - seems transparent to thinking students who are actually starving and experiencing working class problems. It never quite occurs to them that they are attending college not because they've earned it, but because they inherited it. All of the rest is artifice.

Just a little rant on elitism. Sorry.

6. This is true
I talk to a guy that attends Harvard regularly, and he tries to downplay his rich status, yet whines when he might not get something most people would be LUCKY to have...

They just don't get it...

sigh.

10. father and husband
both attended elite colleges GRADUATE. They has to struggle through undergrad where they were accepted (State) both did really well. Both eschew hypocracy. Both detest those that try to get by on 'class rings'. I have no respect for the 'capitalistic royalty' around today.

90% inheritance tax - mandatory - me included.
Please??? Anyone?

If we had true capitalism it would be mandatory.

13. Exactly--not everyone there is rich or a legacy admission
I went to Cornell, which actually a tougher undergrad program to get through, and I met an awful lot of folks who weren't rich, and very few who didn't seem smart or talented enough to be there. There were some students from very rich families, and some of them were a bit sheltered, but I think very few people in this country are sheltered from class awareness.
Got my creative writing degree in '90. Graduated into first Bush recession. Still making student loan payments!

Dean is handling Tweety just fine...

17. the Hardball "Battle for the Whitehouse" series is taking place at Harvard
this wasn't only for Dean… it's been this way with all the candidates who've come before him, and will be the same when Clark is featured next Monday.

I think Tweety has some kinda relationship with the Kennedy School at Harvard.

18. Matthews trips over own tongue ....
Otherwise, I thought the interview went fairly well. Tweety even backed down. Tweety even said that Dean was an honest man.
