6. Sure. But in this case........ |
|
We've simply made Saddam the better choice. But it won't work. His army is gone and his sons are dead. You can't make him look strong again.
But someone else will come along. Look at the history of the region.
A young Saddam. That's the ticket.

9. It would be more to the point |
|
to note that Tikrit is Hussein's hometown and the folks there profited mightily from his ruling Iraq. They long for the days when Saddam kept those damnable Kurds and Shiites in their places.. preferably in mass graves.

3. Well it's not like there's any less torture or misery post-Saddam... |
|
and even after the U.S. leaves, there's just going to be another Saddam-like leader in power.

4. Can't say i blame them |

It is like heresy to say it these days, but even Saddam didn't manage to get a thousand people or more killed each week. All we've brought to Iraq is chaos. We need to learn the lessons of Iraq and Vietnam, to leave well-enough alone, and that as bad as it might seem, it can get worse. Let us tend our own fields, and stop worrying about our neighbors'.

8. Yeah, these days, Saddam must be laughing himself to sleep |
|
even though he's on trial in a kangaroo court. He did the one thing no other despot in our history was able to do: drag the US Presidency down to his level. Although it must be said, Dubya was dumb enough to do enable that.

12. I can understand why many Iraqis would prefer Saddam to GeeDub's Gang |
|
. . .
Saddam normally went after, (yes, most likely tortured and killed) those that opposed him.
The US War-Machine kills anyone that gets in their way, even if it's just a noisy wedding . .
or even DRIVES too close to one of their checkpoints, - Mothers, children and all . . .
Or Canuks on maneuvers . .
Yeah, I would prefer Saddam to the US gang -
Saddam was a little more discriminating in who he punished/killed.
Sad choice, but
I'd go live in Iraq under Saddam
Before I'd spend another day even visiting the USA under your PNAC regime.
